The Manta Retreat is back!

In October 2022, when the first Manta Retreat was launched at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort, guests of the luxury resort got to experience the magic of meeting these gentle underwater giants up close while learning and exploring the research and education around them. 

This year's participants of the Manta Retreat can look forward to many mind-blowing manta encounters but will also learn about plankton, coral reefs and, most importantly, marine protection.

This October the head chef of acclaimed El Xato Restaurant in the region around Valencia, Spain will add her take of Mediterranean cookery to the already outstanding dining experiences at the resort. The Spaniard will create Mediterranean inspired seafood dishes on several dinner events during her stay.

Experience a pop-up hot chocolate bar, sign up for a marshmallow masterclass exclusively curated for adults and children, sip on bespoke recipes for the ultimate cocktail experience whilst overlooking a breathtaking Maldivian sunset, copy up around a bonfire for movie night under the stars whilst roasting gourmet S’mores and end the week on a sugar high with a pop-up ice cream parlour by the pool for a splashing good time!

Internationally renowned French DJ and Producer, Michael Canitrot lit up the evenings when he played a series of live sets at some of the most breathtaking venues at the resort. From Paris to LA, Amsterdam to Brazil and Tokyo, Michael Canitrot has been DJ’ing in some of the biggest clubs in the world, hosted high-fashion events for Dior, Chanel and Cartier and took over the world’s most famous red carpet – the Festival de Cannes – playing live to a global audience for over 10 years.
